4th of July Tradition

For the past two years the kids and I have traveled out to Aberdeen, SD to visit my sister and her family. Last year we rode with my dad and this year the kids and drove out by ourselves. It went well and they did great, even though Hailey asked me if we were there yet every five minutes. I was surprised, but they didn't sleep a lot either. We spent a long weekend at my sister's house and it was a lot of fun. Ezra was outside all day and rode his bike or jumped on the trampoline. Hailey just had fun playing with her cousins. She gets their names mixed up because there are four of them and they all look quite a bit alike. Each year we go there the kids get to know each other better and keep each other busy. This year they had a water balloon fight (thank to Uncle Sam for filling up all the balloons), ran through the sprinkler, jumped on the trampoline and of course, went to Storybook Land to see all the stories and take the annual ride on the carousel. Heather and I still get very little time to visit between meals, potty breaks, naps, baths, bedtimes, etc. Someday soon, I hope that we will be able to chat without any interruptions. I continue to appreciate my relationship with my sister as we get older. We are a lot different, but we still laugh and have so much fun together. She is able to show me God in new ways and we enjoy meeting her friends and visiting their church. By the way their church is way out of town in the middle of farms. It is actually pretty cool and the people there are wonderful to my sister and her family. Ezra and Hailey are already asking when we can go visit their cousins...next 4th of July for sure-it is tradition and you don't monkey with tradition. :)
