Trunk or Treat at church!

They do a great activity at our church for Halloween. It is a great way to do something as a family and go trunk or treating safely. Families from church decorate their trunks and hand out candy to the kids. So first Hailey and Ezzie went to AWANA and then they let all of the kids out early to go trunk or treating with mom's and dad's. The weather was nice and so the three of us walked from car to car and got LOTS of candy. The trunks were decorated so uniquely. One was a truck that was turned into a mummy's tomb, one was the yellow brick road with the Wizard of Oz characters-which Hailey and Ezra LOVED, and a Veggie Tales trunk. It was really a lot of fun! By the way, Hailey was thrilled to get her picture with Dorothy and Ezzie was sooo excited that he met the Tin Man!
Plus, every Wednesday while the kids are in Cubbies at AWANA, I go to a bible study with other parents from church on Grace-Based Parenting by Tim Kimmel. I really like it a lot and am getting a different perspective of parenting. Also, I have met some new friends which is so nice. I have met Renee and Heather. Heather and I use to go to New Life together a very long time ago. It has been nice getting to know both of them and sharing parenting stories. Heather has twins, Jacob and YaYa, who are three and we are hoping that our kids will be able to play together more often. At the place I am in my life, it is great to meet some new people and build a new life for myself with Hailey and Ezra. Our church has been a place of safety, growth, and renewal, and I love it!
