Apple Orchard Time!!

Since the kids were born, we have always taken them to the Apple Orchard in the fall. We usually visit Aamodt's in Stillwater. It is a family place and has some great activities. I can remember when we took Ezzie there when he was only a few weeks old and Hailey was just a squirt. This was the first time that I took them there by myself. As I go through building a new life for us, I realize the importance of the three of us to create new traditions, yet I still want to carry on ones that we have done since they were born. The best part this year is they are both big enough to climb the apple trees. They wanted to spend most of our time there climbing trees, it was really a lot of fun. It is so crazy how fast they grow up. They were able to ride ponies, help me pick out some apples for our families traditional apple bars, eat some apple crisp with cinnamon ice cream, and climb MANY apple trees. The ponies were great, but they just walk around in their own poop and pee. It was quite disgusting, but the kids didn't notice or seem to care. Ezzie went to every bin of apple taking a bite and throwing it away. I am sure he went through about eight different kids of apples. I am sure that wasn't their idea of tasting them. :) We got some great pictures and we did just fine visiting the orchard on our own. I can't wait until next year! The sad part is that they just will keep growing and the trees won't, so eventually they won't be as fun or challenging to climb. But I think no matter how big they are they will love our tradition of visiting the apple orchard and climbing the apple trees! There is nothing better than memories and ones that create tradition!
