MEGT Conference 2009

Every February, there is a Gifted and Talented conference for educators at Craguns in Brainerd. Thus year, I had the honor of attending with three of my colleagues, who are my team in my new job. Each one of them has so much to offer and teach us, it is an amazing team and I am so proud to be a part of them. we spent time going to workshops or class to learn how to be better educators for our GT students. It was so motivating and rejuvinating, as well. I suppose the part of us all having our own suites with living room, full kitchen, bedroom, fireplace, balcony looking over the frozen lake, and whirlpool tub made it even better! The four of us work so well together. We are able to all be honest and share our viewpoints, even if we don't agree. In the bible it says that iron sharpens iron and these three people sharpen me often. They have made me better at what I do and who I am. Each one of them contributes to my life in a different way. I am so thankful that I have been able to work with them this year. We were able to have some fun too. Besides attending workshops to learn, we went to meetings to play games that our students would like, eat fabulous food, visit with other educators, relax in our rooms, plan as a team what to present to our staff's when we got home, and enjoy a sleigh ride. The highlight of our trip was the sleigh ride! It was so much fun and so surreal. There were two Klidesdale horses that pulled the sleigh around the resort. Our group sang "Sleigh Ride" as we ventured through the path by the lake. It was such a fabulous memory!
