Ava's Roller Skating Birthday Party!

Ava, Hailey's best friend from preschool, and Hailey both have birthdays in January. So the next weekend following Hailey's birthday party, we were invited to Ava's. Ava and her family decided to have a roller skating party at Saint's North. This place brought back so many memories, because when I was little I used to roller skate here as well. I was a bit nervous about the roller skating piece, since this was Ezzie and Hailey's first time. They, however, were thrilled and very excited. Hailey ventured out with Ava following the wall around the rink. They were pretty excited because they played a lot of music form the High School Musical movies. (Hailey and Ava practically have all three movie soundtracks memorized and love to dance to them.) Ezzie and I went around the rink while he held my hand. We took breaks to eat pizza and cake and watch Ava open presents. Towards the end of the party, Ezzie was ready to venture out on his own. I was a nervous wreck, of course. But he was a pro. Even when he did fall, he just got right back up and kept going. Even when I tried to go help him, he would say ,"Mom, I want to do it on my own, Let me be." It was adorable and he was very determined. Plus, he wanted to show me how well he did so that he could move up to roller blades like the big boys! It was a lot of fun and the kids and I plan to go back soon and try it again. Of course, both of them want roller skating birthday parties now. YIKES! I am not sure I could afford it, but they sure would have a ton of fun!
