Trick or Treating 2009

This year was a very eventful one when Halloween rolled around. Hailey and Ezra changed what they wanted to be for Halloween about 10 times each. I didn't want to buy anything until I knew for sure they had decided what to be. Grandma Sue had an even better idea to make their costumes and save money. I am all about saving money and we had fun ideas that we knew Hailey and Ezra would love. Grandma Sue did all the work, which made me even happier.
We started our Halloween events by stoping by our neighbors, Matt and Amy's, for a special treat. Amy and Matt are the best and they are so kind to me and my kids. They had bought both Hailey and Ezra a little bucket full of candy, PEZ despenser, and PEZ. It was perfect and the kids loved them.

Then we headed to Grandma Sue's to get dressed up and go get candy. Thank goodness we have aunties, Grandma Sue's, and friends to help us get them ready. Grandma's friend, Jennifer was over to do face make up. She is such a great friend to Grandma and a SUPERB Craig;s List shopper that we have benefit from.

They were adorable and most importantly warm and cozy. Hailey was a Cat. For any of you that know Hailey, you know that she loves cats and talks about them all the time. Ezra was a dog and loved being a dog.

We had to pose for a few pictures with Auntie Sarah beofre she went to her party.

On our way out to Trick or Treating we ran into Auntie Becky. The kids were thrilled to see her and show off their new costumes. She taught them a new saying to say when you go to a door to Trick or Treat:
Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet
Give me something good to eat
If you don't, I don't care,
I'll pull down your underwear!
Of course, I was not thrilled for them to learn this new saying. Ezra loved it and memorized it immediately. Yikes! I can only hope they won't remember it next year.

We started Trick or Treating around Grandma Sue's neighborhood while it was still light out and not yet windy. When we got back around to Grandma's house we headed to Jennifer's neighborhood where the houses are closer together. We only hit a few more homes and then the kids were tired out and ready to head home. It was a really nice Halloween and the kids had fun and did great!

Grandma Sue took us to Byerly's to get some food and head to her house for a slumber party! It was a lot of fun and a great ending to Halloween!
