A Trip Up North to Miskovich's

We look forward to our annual trip to Grand Rapids to visit the Miskovich's. We have many traditional activities that we do whenever we are in town. Hailey and Ezzie love to come up to play with Wyatt and Ryder. In the past few months, we have been up here twice and it is has been great. As the kids get older, it gets easier to send them to play together. They all get along pretty well, which is quite nice. When we arrived Ezzie started playing with the boys right away and thoroughly enjoyed practicing his baseball skills with Peter and Wyatt.

Hailey was reunited to with, Chewy, the hamster. This was given to Wyatt for a birthday present and I think Hailey may like it more than Wyatt. Hailey is like the hamster whisperer. She holds Chewy and carries him around, even though he leaves little poop pebbles all around the house. YUCK!. He really likes Hailey and didn't bite her like last time. She cuddles with him and wants to hold him constantly. It is a bummer the thing sleeps most of the day. The hamster drives me and Molly crazy at night when we try to watch a movie and he runs on his wheel, which is quite squeaky and loud. Chewy spends most of the time in the basement, Hailey rescues him and shows him the daylight again.

The highlight of the trip was to head out to the Miskovich's lot on Lake Pokegama. It was beautiful and I can't wait to see what they build on it. Currently, the lot has a trailer on it that they bought. We spent some time in the trailer letting the kids crawl around the boys bunk beds and eating Tootsie Rolls. It was quite cold out, so we had to bundle up. Yes, in the middle of July. It was colder on the lake, of course.

We headed down the hill to their lakeshore. Hailey took a poicture of Molly and I by the lake. Molly was nice enough to give all the kids a ride on the four wheeler. Ezzie was really excited to ride on it. Ezzie loved crawling up the hill of their lot. I, of course, was out of breath and tired. We had fun just hanging out on their lot and enjoying the beauty that surrounds it.

We headed to the mall to look at my favorite store, The Purple Pinecone. I love trying to see what they have and it is usually quite unique. We ran through the yard of Central School to show Hailey and Ezzie the yellow brick road. I wanted to get some cute flowers, but the kids were not very cooperative. Oh well, the flowers are beautiful and colorful.

We ended the afternoon by visiting the Three Bears Candy Store. They have pretty good chocolate and the kids loved picking something out for themselves. It is kind of funny to see the Dentist's kids eating the sugar. :) They all cheered up after they started to eat their candy. Ezzie kept putting a penny in the gumball machine. He loved it! One of my favorite pictures is of Hailey and Wyatt. Whenever we come Wyatt really is shy and blows off Hailey. The longer we stay Hailey and Wyatt play together so nicely. They are pretty good friends and enjoy each other. It is really sweet. Wyatt is a very nice boy.

There are some always that we do, like eat at Sammy's Pizza, enjoy food at El Patro the Mexican place, go to the mall, stop in at Mississippi Jewelry Store, go to the candy store, stop in at the Pinecone, and drive around to see the latest developments. This time around the boys made breakfast withe Peter and it was delicious. The kids, of course, drove around on the four wheelers a lot. I had to snap a shot of the kids getting along and riding together. Then as we headed out, I tried to get a good shot of all four of them.

The three of us had so much fun and we were sad to leave. We love the Miskovich Family so much. Hailey asked if Molly and I were like sisters and in a way she is like my family. She has stood by me through a lot and I will never be able to thank her.
