Mother's Day Plant Off at Sprick's

I LOVE Mother's Day! I love it because I am so glad to be the mom to the two BEST kids in the entire world. It is also a day to remind me about how lucky I am to have these two munchkins in my life. A tradition has started this year with an extravaganza at the Sprick home. Papa Dan came up with a great idea. It all started when we headed to Gerten's as a family. Papa Dan challenged all of us to a "Plant Off." We divided into groups and choose an area of the house/yard to decorate with flowers and plants. We quickly split up into our groups to shop and stratagize. Sue and I were on a team and found a Gerten's employee, Mary, who helped us find all the specific plants and flowers we knew we wanted. The other teams went and choose their plants and flowers as well. At the end, we all met at the exit and headed home with lots of ideas and secrets!!

Sarah showed us the color of her future prom dress through a flower we saw. Hailey and Ezra had a ball with their aunties and Uncle Jeff. My munchkins are so lucky to have such wonderful and loving aunties and uncles on both sides of our families. I am so thankful for the awesome family that supports me and my kids. The colors that we saw all around us were absolutely beautiful and we couldn't get enough. Yes, we did feel a bit overwhelmed! But we were all excited to have the BEST plants and flowers. Papa bought Hailey and Ezra special shovels and gloves to use with planting and the dirt.

We had a little photo shoot while we waited in line to buy all of our plants and flowers. Let's just say that we kept the Gerten's girl busy figuring out all the things we were buying. Plus, Ezzie and Hailey were doted on by everyone with us. They truly are spoiled!! It was cool to see how everyone helped out, especially when the truck needed to be loaded up. I, of course, couldn't help because I had to take the pictures! :)

When we arrived at Sprick's, the planting began!! Well not right away, because the pool had to be checked out. Ezzie and Hailey put their toes into the pool to make sure that it wasn't ready to be swam in. Of course, it was very cold. Honestly, Ezzie would have swam in it if we let him. Even Johnnie the cat thought about going for a swim. I just get excited to see the pool open because it means summer is on the way! Yahoo!!

Lots of fun was had by all and the day flew by so quickly. Grandma Sue helped teach Ezzie how to plant some flowers. Auntie Becky helped to show Hailey how to plant in a pot. Uncle Jeff showed Ezzie how to help him rake. Junior and Boo played in the yard and made everyone laugh.

Ezzie spent a lot of time in Papa Dan's trailer helping shovel dirt for people. What boy wouldn't love dirt? But even my princess loved playing in the dirt as well. The best part of the day was the numerous games of baseball that happened. Uncle Jeff worked with Ezzie on his hitting. Papa Dan and Papa Dick worked with Ezzie on his skills in baseball as well. Ezzie was loving this and couldn't get enough. Even Hailey was able to practice her hitting skills with Papa Dan's help and Ezzie was the pitcher. It was so much fun to watch my kids running around the yard playing and having fun. Making memories! We all had a fabulous day and no one wanted it to end. Gain, like I said I am the luckiest mom in the world and I am so thankful for them. Also, God continues to bless our lives with the family around us! Thank you to all our family, we love you so much!!
