There is nothing better on Christmas morning than Dan Sprick's famous breakfast! (I think I love his breakfast' so much because it seems like every Saturday morning my dad would make pancakes. I used to want to get home early from a sleepover when I was young, so I didn't miss out on the pancakes. We also had fabulous breakfasts on Christmas morning when we were kids. Apparently, good breakfasts run in my blood, not the actual making of them, but eating them.) Since I met the Sprick family almost nine years ago, I have ALWAYS enjoyed meals at their home. The food they serve and make is the best! Seriously, have you seen the movie, "What about Bob?" where Bill Murray, aka Bob, enjoys Faye's cooking. He proceeds to moan and groan as he enjoys her food. Well any meal at the Sprick's pretty much makes me act like Bob. Especially, Dan's breakfast on Christmas morning. It is something to look forward to every year. All this to say, that we all enjoyed a wonderful meal before we opened gifts!
Papa Dan made the coolest track for Ezzie with the help of his aunties. uncle, and Grandma. He spent most of the day racing cars on it. Hailey found a doll house waiting for her along with some adorable furniture and High School Musical dolls.
There were other gifts exchanged this Christmas. But what I realized is that we must be thankful for every moment that we have on this earth. We need to cherish the time we have with family and friends. This Christmas, was one with many changes. Not all of the changes I am glad or happy for, but God made me realize something quite important this past holiday season. I learned that God surrounds us with people in our lives at the exact time that we need them. It doesn't always make sense, but God has a plan. I can only pray that I will seek God's plan for me, instead of trying to make my own.
