Our Ojala Christmas

This year instead of heading up to Brainerd to celebrate Christmas with my mom and Mark, we decided to have our Christmas together in the cities. This way, Auntie Carole, Uncle Gary, Ben, Kyla, and Mason could all come to my house to spend some time together. It really worked out well. Plus, I got to entertain and I love to entertain.
As everyone arrived, Hailey and Ezzie saw the wrapped presents put under the tree with their names on them. There was no way that they could wait until after dinner to open them. So Uncle Gary, seeing them suffer, told them to open one. Some other adults didn't like this idea, but the wrapping was already being torn. You can see how much fun they had with only one gift. It would at least hold them off until after dinner...hopefully!

We enjoyed a traditional Ojala Christmas dinner of Swedish Meatballs, Potatoes, Green Bean Hotdish, Lefse...my mouth is watering even now. I was finally able to use the China my mom gave to me that we used on Holidays when I was a kid. Oh the memories!! We all sat down at the table to eat, but Hailey and Ezzie sat at the kid table, but they didn't seem to mind at all.

Sometimes when I upload my photo's, I find pictures that I didn't take. I instantly know that Hailey got her hands on my camera. She does take some good shots and especially of herself! :) I especially love the picture of Mark and my brother, Ben.

It was really sweet, because Auntie Carole offered to take a picture of Hailey since she was taking pictures of everyone. Of course, Hailey was thrilled and posed wiht her doll!

Well after we ate, we tried to do dishes as fast as Kyla and I possibly could. Remember we have two kids that can't wait to open presents. We let Auntie Carole open her presents from my mom first. Just a little background, my dear aunt is fighting cancer and we were so blessed to have her join us for the day. YEAH! Hailey and Ezzie were spoiled with gifts and I am so thankful for my family and how they give to my munchkins.I saw most of Hailey's gifts, but All I saw around Ezzie was ribble of wrapping and boxes. Oh well! Mason got a Doctor's Kit and knew exactly what to do to check his ears, it was adorable!

We also got some time to just hang out together! We visited and laughed, of course. However, I sure do miss Auntie Carole's laugh. It seems like every time we were together we would laugh so hard, we would cry. Spiderman showed up at our celebration, which was pretty awesome! Hailey enjoyed cuddle time with Auntie Carole and Grandma Linda. Ben and Papa Mark even got in a Cribbage Game. It was relaxing and nice!

Mason, my nephew, is really a comical little character. All evening he was making us giggle and he is in the stage where he is mobile and on the move. He loved climbing under the Christmas tree and knocking down our ornaments. Hailey thought it was so funny and tried to tell him to not go under there.

Later in the evening, Mason got his fingers on a sucker. He was so proud, as you can tell form the picture. He was walking around the house like he was the coolest cat in town. He even let his dad have a lick.

Then he sat in our black IKEA chair and was throwing himself backwards in it and laughing. He was a stitch. It is so fun to watch him grow and turn into such a funny and sweet little boy.

Then it was PJ time. Grandma Linda and Papa Mark give the grandkids new PJ's every year. We had to get them all cozy and take a picture. This year, Kyla and I also got PJ's and we had to get a picture as well. The PJ's I got are the best! They are not too hot and so cozy! I love them!

It was such a great night! The next day, Grandma Linda and Papa Mark headed back to Brainerd, but not before we got a group picture.
