Annual Visit to the Holidazzle and the 8th Floor

My dad, Hailey, Ezzie, and I headed downtown Minneapolis to watch the Holidazzle and visit the 8th Floor. The traffic was awful, but we didn't miss any of the parade. Since Kyla works downtown she scoped out a warm, cozy spot in the skyway. (Thank goodness-it was freezing outside!) While we waited for the parade to start we shot a few pictures.

Hailey is a lot like a Mattson, she has a great sense of humor. We were taking pictures of just the two of us. On one of the shots, without telling each other, we both made silly faces. When we looked at the picture, we laughed so hard together. I love that I can giggle with Hailey and make memories together.

After a lot of waiting, we the Holidazzle started. It seemed like there was way too much wait time between each float. We only stayed for a part of the parade. Our secret plan is to leave a bit before the parade ends so we can beat the crowd to the 8th floor exhibit. It always works and the kids haven't figured that we leave before the parade ends.

We quickly headed up to the 8th Floor exhibit and the kids were excited. The theme was A day In the Life of an Elf. It is the same as last year, but we weren't able to see it last year. Hailey and Ezzie met Mrs. Claus and she told him that Santa eats Candy Canes for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. They couldn't believe it! Papa Craig showed Ezzie the Candy Cane Maker and he thought that was pretty cool. Plus, we tried to take some group shots!

While we were leaving the 8th Floor we saw the long, long line of families. They must have stayed for the entire parade...bummer! We all headed to Applebee's for soem dinner. I love doing stuff with my family! This is a fun activity that we do almost every year and it is just a part of our Christmas Celebration. We hope that Macy's continues this tradition!
